Hassayampa River
by  4Runner  05/15/2009
Trail Story
Just northwest of Phoenix, Arizona is a desert river that rises from the depths of the desert sand and then disappears again. Thus, it is called "the upside down river." The Hassayampa River originates in the Bradshaw Mountains and flows, mostly underground, through Wickenburg, Arizona. This trail was run by Toyota engineers in a fifth generation 4Runner prototype. These prototypes were driven over 900 miles off-road for testing purposes.
